This privacy policy is to provide information to you on how your personal information (which includes your health information) is collected and used by your doctor and by staff at YourGP, and the circumstances in which we may share it with third parties.

When you register as a patient, you provide consent for GPs and staff to access and use your personal information so they can provide you with the best possible healthcare. Only staff and clinicians who need to see your personal information will access it. If we need to use your information for anything else, we will seek additional consent from you to do this.
YourGP collects, uses, stores, and shares your personal information primarily to manage your health safely and effectively. This includes providing healthcare services, managing medical records, and ensuring accurate billing and payments. Additionally, we may utilise your information for internal quality and safety improvement processes such as practice audits, accreditation purposes, and staff training to maintain high-quality service standards.

You have the right to deal with your doctor and YourGP anonymously or under a pseudonym, unless it is not practical for us to do so, or unless required or authorised by law to only deal with identified individuals.
YourGP will collect your personal information in several different ways.
When you make your first appointment, staff will collect your personal and demographic information via your registration.
We may also collect your personal information when you visit our website, send us an email or SMS, telephone us, make an online appointment, or communicate with us using social media.

Various types of images may be collected and used, including CCTV footage. This is collected from our premises for security and safety purposes. CCTV footage is not recorded in areas that require privacy such as consultation or treatment rooms.
We sometimes share your personal information:
Only people that need to access your information will do so. Other than in the course of providing medical services or as otherwise described in this policy, YourGP will not share personal information with any third party without your consent.
YourGP has a small team of staff who are directly employed in Malaysia, who assist with some administrative tasks. Besides this team, we will not share your personal information with anyone outside Australia (unless under exceptional circumstances that are permitted by law) without your consent.
The practice will not use your personal information for marketing any goods or services directly to you without your express consent. If you do consent, you may opt out of direct marketing at any time by notifying the practice in writing. Information of informative and educational intent is sent out via email periodically.
Individual doctors may use AI scribe tools to support taking notes during their consultations with you. Your informed consent will be requested at each consultation where AI may be used — consent will not be carried forward to a subsequent consultation. You may withdraw your consent during your consultation.
The AI scribe uses an audio recording of your consultation to generate a clinical note for your health record. Doctors use a range of AI scribes. All tools used are mandated to:
Your personal information will be stored primarily as electronic records. We will store your paper records when they have been transferred to us. YourGP stores all personal information securely.

You have the right to request access to, and correction of, your personal information. YourGP acknowledges patients may request access to their medical records. We require you to put this request in writing. YourGP will respond within a reasonable time of within thirty days. There will be an administrative fee which will be advised.
We will take reasonable steps to correct your personal information where the information is not accurate or up-to-date. From time to time, we will ask you to verify your personal information held by YourGP is correct and up-to-date.
We take complaints and concerns regarding privacy seriously. You should express any privacy concerns you may have in writing. We will then attempt to resolve it in accordance with our resolution procedure.
